Lexicon RV8 Home Cinema Receiver
Sharing much of the technology found in Lexicon’s renowned MC8 and MC12 processors, the new RV8 is far more than just an Audio / Video control centre.

At the heart of the RV-8 reside two Sharc Hammerhead™ 32-Bit DSP engines possessing enormous processing power. Logic 7® decoding, bass enhancement, dialogue enhancement, auto azimuth, precision digital crossovers and bass management are some of the duties performed by these DSP engines. A third proprietary DSP engine has been totally dedicated to accurate decoding of all multi-channel audio sources.

Utilising the latest versions of the critically acclaimed Logic 7® decoding circuitry, the RV-8 is capable of creating a 7.1 channel output from stereo, 5.1 and 6.1 channel sources. Unlike other decoders, Logic 7® is compatible with all input sources and requires no special encoding.

In addition to Logic 7®, the RV-8 offers extensive format support including: Dolby Digital, Dolby Prologic II, DTS 24/96, THX Ultra 2 and THX Surround EX. THX Ultra 2 certification ensures the RV-8 meets the highest THX specifications.

The RV-8 features an integrated 7-channel power amplifier designed to achieve high levels of power and performance. A toroidal power transformer combined with thermal and DC protection ensures exceptional performance and long term reliability.

A fully configurable AM/FM stereo tuner provides 40 presets for direct selection of all favourite stations, whilst a high quality Phono stage enables direct connection for a turntable.

Complimenting its audio performance the RV-8 features a HDTV compatible video switcher with up conversion for all composite video and S-video sources.

Add to this a powerful learning remote control, capable of simplifying the operation of your entire system, and it becomes clear why the RV-8 is the ultimate Music and Home Theatre receiver.

Lexicon MC4 A/V Digital Controller
Drawing on Lexicon's legendary expertise in digital audio, the new MC-4 offers superior performance and value for today's music and home theatre enthusiast.

Equipped with 8 configurable inputs, and 8 output channels, the MC-4 is ideal for all but the most elaborate systems. At the heart of the MC-4 are four Analogue Devices SHARC digital signal processing engines, one Cirrus Logic DSP engine, and eight 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analogue converters - an architecture nearly identical to the MC-12. The MC-4 includes THX Ultra2 certification and dts 96/24 decoding. Amongst its impressive list of playback technologies are: Dolby Digital EX, Pro-Logic II, dts-ES, dts Neo6, and LOGIC7.

Based on years of psychoacoustic research, LOGIC7 strikes a delicate balance between channel separation and surround envelopment. For music, film, and broadcast sources, LOGIC7 distinguishes between primary and background signals and processes them appropriately. Prominent sounds like a singer's voice or an airplane's roar are reproduced with stunning clarity. The signal is sent to the appropriate speaker with high channel separation, while secondary sounds like the ambient noise of a concert hall or the great outdoors are reproduced with amazing spaciousness. With LOGIC7, the listener experiences an unmatched sense of involvement.

With formats such as DVD-Video, DVD-A, SACD, and High-Definition TV, the demand for input connectors has grown. The MC-4 provides compatibility with these formats, offering 3 component video inputs and 8 configurable analogue inputs. The analogue inputs can be configured as 8 stereo inputs, 5 stereo inputs plus one 5.1-channel input, or 2 stereo inputs plus two 5.1-channel inputs for separate DVD-A and SACD sources.

Utilising the same intuitive on-screen menu system and user interface as the MC-12, both new users and those familiar with Lexicon will be customising and fine-tuning their MC-4 in minutes. Combined with an RT-10 disc player and CX series power amplifier, the MC-4 will serve as the core component within a high performance, high value home theatre system.

Lexicon MC8 A/V Digital Controller
Based on the reference MC-12 digital controller, the MC-8 Digital Controller is perfectly suited to less complex multi-channel systems in which sound quality, picture quality, ease-of-use and reliability are still of paramount importance. Sharing the unique industrial design that identifies the new line of Lexicon home theatre products, the MC-8 is available in balanced and unbalanced versions and an optional rack mounting kit is available.

At the heart of the MC-8 are four Analogue Devices SHARC Digital Signal Processing engines, one Cirrus Logic™ DSP engine, and per output, 24-bit/192kHz digital-to-analogue converters - an architecture that is nearly identical to the MC-12. As a result, the MC-12 and MC-8 share the same tremendous processing power and performance characteristics. The MC-8 includes THX® Ultra2 certification and dts 96/24 decoding, together with an impressive list of playback technologies: Dolby® Digital EX, Pro-Logic® II, dts-ES, dts Neo6, and Lexicon’s own LOGIC 7®, which creates a full 7.1-channel output signal from 2, 5.1 and 6.1-channel input sources.

With the emergence of formats such as DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD, and High-Definition TV, the demand for input connectors has grown. The MC-8 provides compatibility with these formats, offering three component video inputs and eight configurable analogue inputs. The analogue inputs can be configured either as eight stereo inputs, five stereo inputs and one 5.1-channel input, or two stereo inputs and two 5.1-channel inputs for separate DVD-A and SACD sources. Stereo sources can be converted into the digital domain for multi-channel processing or, along with the 5.1 channel inputs, be routed directly through the MC8 in pure analogue mode.

Like the MC-12, the MC-8 provides the facility for easy software upgrades via a rear panel RS-232 port. The MC-8 also features two internal upgrade slots and two rear panel access plates, which provide the facility to augment the rear panel connections should future upgrades be made available.

The MC8 is available in both balanced and unbalanced versions, depending on system requirements. The unbalanced version can be readily upgraded at a later date. Combined with the RT-10 disc player and CX series power amplifier, the MC-8 will let you rediscover your favourite music and movies and inject the audio and video media you thought you knew with a new power to entertain.
