The Performa F50a Loudspeaker The top model in the Performa range, the F50a sets a new standard of acoustical performance and accuracy. The elegant narrow cabinetry houses five magnetically-shielded proprietary high-performance transducers, covering the entire audible spectrum. Featuring a trio of ceramic composite 6.5-inch cone woofers, the F50a’s low frequency response is both dynamically authoritative and highly refined all the way down to the lowest octave, qualifying the F50a as a true full-range loudspeaker. A 5.25-inch ceramic composite cone driver housed in its own separate sub-enclosure superbly reproduces the critical middle frequencies, delivering natural tonal balance over a wide operating range. The F50a’s 1-inch titanium dome tweeter features ideal performance characteristics, including high frequency response extending far beyond the audible spectrum, with wide dispersion that provides open and airy treble. Separate, high-order crossovers tightly control the distribution of audio signals to the appropriate drivers; preventing mutual interference between crossover elements, while assuring smooth octave-to-octave balance and timbre accuracy. Bi-wiring and bi-amping capabilities are provided, along with a tweeter level control that allows precise balancing to compensate for room acoustics and loudspeaker placement. Revel’s unique attention to manufacturing detail includes individual hand tuning of each F50a loudspeaker, matched to a fraction of a decibel of the production reference standard. This provides unparalleled unit-to-unit consistency for optimum soundstage and imaging precision. Constructed of specially braced composite material finished in real wood veneer, the F50a includes reversible spike feet for installations on carpet, tile, or hardwood flooring and a removable black grille. The F50a is available in three real wood veneer finishes: Maple, Natural Cherry, or Black Ash.
