Screenplay Projectors

Screenplay SP4805 Home Entertainment Projector.
InFocus® ScreenPlay’s DLP™ projectors are changing the face of home cinema. Not only do they put plasma displays in the shade in terms of image size, they rival them for quality at a fraction of the price. It’s a bargain proposition that transforms the potential of DVD, providing cinema scale and quality images, vibrant in colour and contrast, to a delighted new audience. More and more lovers of picture quality, hitherto seduced by plasma, are discovering the InFocus ScreenPlay experience and have abundant money to spare.

True to form, the ScreenPlay™ 4805 DLP projector will deliver an image four times the size of a Plasma TV at one quarter the cost. As many experts have acknowledged, InFocus ScreenPlay’s projectors offer market-beating performance, specification and value at every price point. Utilising a brand new Texas Instruments® DarkChip2™ 480p 12° DDR DMD chipset, the SP4805 provides true 16:9 DLP projection at a new low price.

The ScreenPlay 4805 uses an exclusive six-segment, four-speed colour wheel, creating vivid, saturated colours allied to an exceptional 2000:1 contrast ratio. Faroudja’s FLI2310 DCDi™ video processor, coupled with cross-colour suppression and per-pixel motion adaptive processing, provides optimum video quality for smooth, natural images. Each SP4805 is calibrated to D65, the industry colour standard, ensuring optimised colour balance straight from the box.

With a video-optimised brightness of 750 ANSI Lumens, the SP4805 is perfect for both installed and portable use in a range of lighting conditions. Installation options include ceiling mount, front/rear projection and tabletop placement. Digital keystone adjustment provides a greater range of placement options, whilst a 5-12V trigger enables automated screen activation. Flexibility is indeed a key feature of ScreenPlay’s designs. Connections are comprehensive, including Composite Video, S-Video, Component Video connectors, together with a universal M1-DA interface enabling full compatibility with DVI and HDMI sources. With a view towards the future the SP4805 is compatible with the upcoming High Definition broadcasts from Sky and the BBC.

Screenplay Projectors

Screenplay SP5700 Home Entertainment Projector.
At the heart of ScreenPlay’s award-winning 5700 is the Matterhorn DLP™ chip from Texas Instruments®, providing true native wide-PAL resolution. Now, for the first time, you can project seamless video of your favourite programs or sporting events in their native resolution, without the scaling normally associated with more conventional projectors. State-of-the-art processing from Texas Instruments and Faroudja deliver uniform brightness, high contrast in black and grey levels, and sharp full-image focus with low distortion.

Video Processing is provided by Faroudja's newest DCDi™ FL2310 chip, offering exceptional colour, detail and noise suppression. For a projector to be exceptional, its designers must first optimise a balance of virtues and decide how to express the results. All ScreenPlay projectors express contrast range or ratio (a measure of the difference between the light and dark elements of a picture) based on "real world" video material, providing a more accurate representation of their capabilities in the home rather than in the lab. The ScreenPlay 5700 provides an excellent ‘real’ contrast ratio of 1400:1, so now even very complex and dimly lit scenes are reproduced with absolute clarity.

Each ScreenPlay 5700 is calibrated to a 65k colour point to provide the most accurate colour reproduction of broadcast and disc-based formats. Little, if any, adjustment is required. Eight individual video inputs are provided: four HDTV Component, two S/Video and one Composite Video input, in addition to an M1 interface that is fully compatible with all Digital Video formats such as DVI and HDMI. All resolutions from 480i to 1080p are supported. With a view towards the future the SP5700 is completely compatible with the upcoming High Definition broadcasts from Sky and the BBC.

For ease of installation, the ScreenPlay 5700 provides multiple video presets, voltage triggers; RS232 and discrete IR control. If the 5700’s inherent quality and packed feature list are not enough to persuade you that it’s the projector to buy, the projectors was voted European Projector of the Year for 2004.
